A BBC weatherman has told of his shame after he accidentally said the c-word on live national television.

Alex Deakin, who is 37 years of age was predicting "bucket loads of sunshine" but instead said "bucket loads of c***" before correcting himself.

Clips of his slip up on The BBC News have been quick to turn viral and be spread around YouTube and other various media sharing sites.

Deakin went on to tweet: "I think the less said the better about that last broadcast #P45."

James Naughtie and Andrew Marr have both been said to have made similar slip ups in 2010.
